Kelly Sears Consulting Group, which was commissioned by the Canadian Solar Industries Association and Canada’s Electricity Sector Council to look into the state of the nations ability to enlarge its solar plans, came up with these startling facts;
Their key findings were that:
1. There will be a doubling of jobs by 2011 in the solar energy sector.
2. Industry shortage of installers right now. So get on a solar training course and start a new career in renewable energy.
3. By 2011 there will also be a shortage of system designers, project managers and engineers. Another reason to enroll on a solar training course to tailor your skills to this field.
4. Recommendation to increase solar training and relevant curricula.

It's called the Evergreen Solar plant. The facility was supposed to be up and running in February.

The finishing touches are being put on Midland's newest $80 million chemical plant.
"For a town this size, we haven't had to go very far to find parts and pieces and equipment and talented people to help support the construction of this plant," Midland said.
They won't make the solar panel at the Evergreen Solar plant. Instead, they'll make something that goes into the solar panel. There are 15 jobs to start, and possibly 125 in two to three years as the solar energy industry expands.
"All of our technology needs this high-temperature filament to make the wafers. The silicon wafers then become solar cells, and then are turned into solar panels."
"We have the opportunity now to embrace solar energy, and if we don't, we will be left behind."
